Johari Window: The Open Area (Known to Me, Known to You)

Ok! So here is the first quadrant of the Johari Window; the open area. It's the space of shared understanding, transparency, and authenticity. This is often where growth, collaboration, and trust are most easily cultivated.

This is what is known to you and known to me for this practice:

❤️The clinic focuses on pelvic health physical therapy

❤️The core values are connection, growth, and leadership

❤️We prioritize community, empowerment, and a holistic approach.

❤️We are actively creating programs, classes, podcasts, and blog content to educate and connect

❤️We are passionate about women’s health, menopause, pregnancy prep, and postpartum care.

❤️We are seeking to differentiate our practice with warmth, inclusion, and evidence-based care.

❤️We are playful and intentional in our messaging and like things to feel grounded, yet engaging

These are pretty spot on for surface level facts. And I am proud that these are the surface level facts! Even a robot can understand what our values and mission represent. To go deeper, I asked AI to give me reflective questions.

🧠What do you believe are your greatest strengths as a provider?

I ask more questions than I give answers! The magic sauce in most health care settings is how well you listen to your patients. I also have a pretty open mindset about the why something is happening and how to address the concerns. It’s never or, it’s always and.

🧠What do clients often affirm or appreciate about you?

The calm nature of the clinic and the freedom to express their concerns candidly. The space has been created to provide a truly healing environment. And I feel I provide an opportunity to connect on deep and authentic level.

🧠Your business is built around connection, growth, leadership, and community. How do you actively embody these values in your daily work?

I love this question… why have values if you don’t embody them! Ok, so for connection, I am consistently reaching out to other practitioners and organizations that are wanting to improve the state of wellbeing in Eugene, Oregon and the surrounding areas. As those connections grow, the larger community will benefit and my own personal community will become more enriched. For growth, I am constantly learning. I hope most, if not all, health care providers go into their fields with a curious mindset and have the drive to grow through knowledge and experiences. Lastly, for leadership, this is building slowly in the background. I have a vision to bring PT services onto the labor and delivery units to help reduce maternal mortality rates… and that takes time! I’m hoping to have a viable connection with the hospitals in town in 3 years. Also, I want to create a professional group of multiple practitioners to help lead our community and to learn from each other.

🧠What specific aspects of your approach to pelvic health and wellness set you apart from others in the field?

I blend nervous system management, strength training, and manual therapy really well. There is a sweet spot of where the 3 come together. We need to be strong to maintain independence and to increase our capacity. We need to manage our nervous systems so our function is optimized. We need manual therapy to increase body awareness and tap into a healing environment.

🧠Is there anything you feel ready to show more of (personally or professionally) to expand this open quadrant?

Oh this is a good question! I’m being drawn to share more of my what goes on in my brain and heart with the world rather than only providing educational pelvic health content. I’m a pretty private person so being emotionally vulnerable on the internet and in my community is tough. However, not to sound like I’m bragging, I just feel that I have a lot of insight and willingness to explore my past and current self that could encourage others to do the same. Many people in this world right now are in pain, not just physically, but deep within themselves. This pain tends to hurt ourselves AND others. Some self-reflection regarding our pain points would hopefully help us live a more authentic and abundant life that also encourages others to do the same.
